Dear Students and Families,
I write to you this morning to provide advance notice of changes to our operation. A more detailed communication will be sent to our campus community later today. Given the rapidly developing local response to COVID-19 and related guidance, effective immediately, please be aware of the following University actions:
- The residence halls will close at noon on Monday, March 16. Until then, students are able to freely access the residence halls to retrieve essentials. After noon on Monday, any student who needs to return to campus to retrieve essentials from their room should contact cua-residencelife@cua.edu to make arrangements.
- Students currently remaining in the residence halls are instructed to leave campus until the University resumes classes on campus which is currently scheduled for March 30, but will be reassessed on March 25.
- Students who are returning to DC from Spring Break trips may retrieve essentials from the residence halls and should make plans to depart the campus by noon on Monday, March 16. We know that some students may not be able to depart the residence halls due to extraordinary circumstances, and they should contact the Dean of Students for assistance at deanofstudents@cua.edu.
All on-campus student events are cancelled until further notice. This includes all intercollegiate athletic related activities including all competition and formal and organized practice.
We know that our students and parents have questions about many issues and we will publish an FAQ to our website as soon as practical. Students and parents should continue to contact the Office of the Dean of Students with any questions.
Sincerely,
Judi Biggs Garbuio, Ph.D.
